ABOUT ME

Mel Wright Massage Therapy was founded in 2017.

Originally from Mexborough I spent most of my childhood through to my mid-30's living in Castleford before moving to Cudworth, Barnsley in 2006. Through an early career in the Army and lots of amateur boxing and rubgy in my youth I enjoyed having a good massage, but often found they weren't deep enough to ease my muscles and get the endorphins flowing. It wasn't until an arm injury in 2005 that I discovered Deep Tissue Massage and found it worked for me in a way other types of treatment did not. Now fully recovered and qualified as a Sports Massage Therapist I want to share the benefits this treatment has to offer.

I don’t like to over complicate things and once we've completed an initial consultation and paperwork I always get straight down to the business of working on your body without delay. Rather than confusing you with lots of science and detailed anatomical jargon I'll explain things clearly.
Ultimately, you need to know what you will get from a deep tissue and/or sports massage therapy treatment with me, and I bring it back to what I first found when having the treatment "it just seems to work for me in a way that other types of treatment have not”. As a result of this I am building a client list of people who have busy jobs, busy gym/sports training activities, busy family life, or a combination of all of those things. Its very common to see people with a tight and aching back, neck and shoulders, which may be as a result of sitting at a desk all day, or just simply from being under pressure to be doing something all the time which will inevitably lead to stress and some uncomfortable aching muscles, just in the same way that prolonged and repeated exercise can cause some injury niggles and movement dysfunction. Whichever of these applies to you, I can help!

In March 2018, I was a finalist in the Pitman Training #SuperAchievers awards in the Working Dad of the Year category; not an award I wold have ever sought out, but one my wife and four children thought I was worthy of, and that, more than the award means everything to me.

I'm also proud to give support when I can to our local community group, Cudworth Business & Community together.  To find out a bit more about the village of Cudworth and its many and varied independent local businesses, the Visit Cudworth website is the place to go.

If you want to keep in touch with what's going on at Mel Wright Massage  Therapy, I post regularly on Facebook, Twitter & Instagram
